HTML media behavior

The JavaScript object provides a video-like proxy for play(), pause(), seeking, current time, duration, volume, muted state, playback rate, paused state, seeking, and ended state. Methods such as getProperty(name) and setProperty(name, value) return promises. Direct property reads are cached snapshots; request a fresh value when timing matters.

Standard media events include loadedmetadata, play, playing, pause, ended, timeupdate, seeking, seeked, volumechange, ratechange, waiting, and error. Unsupported properties fail with unsupported_property rather than revealing the internal video element. Browser autoplay and fullscreen policies can reject calls that lack a Viewer gesture. Public failures include a stable code and, when available, a Request ID.
